Make café-quality iced lattes at home this summer — no barista skills required.
Why Home Café?
There's something quietly satisfying about making your own coffee at home. No lines, no noise — just you, a good cup, and a moment of calm before the day begins. This summer, we're leaning into the home café ritual: a simple iced latte recipe paired with a minimal, beautiful setup that makes the whole experience feel intentional.
Here's everything you need to get started.
What You'll Need

The Glass
A double-walled glass mug keeps your drink cold longer without condensation, and lets you see the beautiful layers of espresso and milk.

Iced Latte Recipe (Serves 1)
Ingredients:
- 2 shots espresso (or ½ cup strong drip coffee, chilled)
- ¾ cup whole milk or oat milk
- Handful of ice
- 1–2 tsp simple syrup (optional)
Step 1 — Brew your coffee
Pull 2 shots of espresso or brew a strong drip coffee. Let it cool or chill for 10 minutes. Hot coffee melts ice too fast and dilutes the flavor.
Step 2 — Froth your milk
Pour cold milk into your frothing pitcher. Shake or froth vigorously for 30 seconds to create a light cold foam.
Step 3 — Build your drink
Fill your double-walled glass with ice. Pour chilled espresso first, then slowly pour milk over the back of a spoon to create distinct layers. Add syrup if desired.
Step 4 — Finish with latte art
Use your latte art pen to draw a simple heart or leaf on the foam. Take a photo. You've earned it.
Setting the Scene: Minimal Home Café Styling

- Keep your counter clear. A stainless steel cup drying rack organizes your mugs without visual clutter.
- Use natural light for the best photos and the best mood.
- Limit your palette — matte white, warm wood, clear glass. Let the drink be the focal point.
- One tray, one story. Group your pitcher, glass, and a small plant on a single tray for a composed vignette.

Pro Tips
- Oat milk creates creamier cold foam with a naturally sweet flavor.
- Freeze leftover coffee into ice cubes so your drink never gets watered down.
- Chill your glass in the freezer for 5 minutes before building your drink.
- Batch your syrup — 1:1 sugar to water, simmered 5 minutes, keeps all week.
